Discussion-1.

To  the  uninitiated  and  to  the  class-room  readers,  three  opening  words  of  the  Upanishad  should  read  almost  scandalously  absurd,  because  of  the  very  abruptness  of  its  declaration.

The  declaration  in  itself  is,  indeed,  quite  its  revolutionising;  and  much  more  so,  do  they  read  strange  and  terrible,  because  of  the  suddenness  of  the  truth-blast  in  the  declaration!
