"AGAMA PRAKARANA"
( The Scriptural Treatise )

Mantram-4

MANTRAM  INTRODUCES US TO THE DREAMER.

Svapna-sthano-ntah-prajnah  saptanga

ekona-vimsati-mukhah  pravi-vikta-bhuk

taijaso  dvitiyah  padah.

word by meaning : -

svapnah  sthanah = one who has dream state as one's field;

antah  prajnah = who is conscious of the internal;

sapta  angah = has seven limbs;

ekona  vimsati  mukhah = has nineteen mouths;

pravivikta  bhuk = experiencer of subtle objects;

taijasah = is taijasa;

dvitiyah  padah = the second quarter.

The sum of Mantram : -

(The second quarter ( pada ) is "Taijasa" whose sphere of activity is the " dream-state," who is conscious of the internal world of objects, who has seven limbs and nineteen mouths and who enjoys the subtle objects of the mental world.)

Discussion-3.

The Vaisvanara and the Taijasa, the ego of the waker and the ego of the dreamer, are both part of the spiritual entity in us.

Pure Consciousness or Awakenness in us identifying itself with the gross body acts the part of Vaisvanara and the same Reality or Conscious Principle conditioned by its own identifications with the subtle body becomes the dreamer and the experiences the dream-world as the Taijasa.

Having thus discussed two quarters ( PADA-S ) the Upanishad goes on to the Next Mantram to explain the third PADA, the Sleeper.
