ISAVASYA UPANISHAD :

or

VAJASANEYI    SAMHITA    UPANISHAD

Mantram-17.

Vayur-anilam-amrtam  athedam   bhasmantagm  sariram,

om  krto  smara  krtagm  smara  krato  smara  krtagm  smara.

vayuh  =  air  ( Prana );

anilam  =  to  the  air  ( universal );

amrtam  =  immortal;

atha  =  now;

idam  =  this;

bhasmantagm  =  reduced  to  ashes;

sariram  =  body;

om  =  om  ( prolonged  sound );

krato  =  O  my  mind;

smara  =  ( you )  remember;

krtagm  =  what  you  did,  your  deeds;

smara  =  ( you )  remember.

(17) " Let  my  prana  merge  into  the  all-pervading  air ( and )  now  let  this  body  be  burnt  ( by  the  fire )  to  ashes.  Om,  O  my  mind!  remember,  remember  what  you  did!"

Discussion-1.  After  the  complete  subjective  experience  of  the  Reality  during  meditation,  when  the  individualised  ego-centre  has  come  to  experience,  "He,  the  Purusha  ( Lord )  within  thee
am I"

What  would  be  the  condition  of  such  a  Perfected  Master  at  the  time  of  his  death?

When  the  ego-centre    has  merged  itself  in  the  Supreme  Awareness,  what  would  be  its  attitude  towards  its  possessions  :  meaning,  its  own  other  envelopments  such  as  the  body,  prana,  mind,  intellect  etc.,?

These  questions  have  been  answered  by  the  great  Rishis  in  this  Mantram.

Discussion- 2. "May  you  remember  what  you  did  in  the  past? "  .....

To be continued  ....
