MUNDAKOPANISHAD : CHAPTER-3. SECTION-2. MANTRAM-3.{ "Foremost means of Self-realisation seeking the Self alone." }

MUNDAKOPANISHAD

CHAPTER-3.

SECTION-2.

MANTRAM-3.{ "Foremost  means  of  Self-realisation  seeking  the  Self  alone." }

Discussion-1. "No  panditha  should  think  that  because  he  can  give  elaborate  and  learned  discourse........"

If  realisation  of  the  Self  is  the  end  of  all  desiring  and  thraldom  of  birth  and  death,  naturally,  the  student  of  scriptures  would  be  anxious  to  know  how  this  state n can  be  attained.

The  first  instinct  would  surely  be  to  reach  the  Truth  through  study.

Here  the  Rishi-s  are  negating  all  those  paths  which  ordinarily   our  intellect,  with  its  instincts,  would  suggest  to  us.

Thus,  the  mantram  says  that  "no  pandita  should  think  that  because  he  can  give  an  elaborate  and  learned  discourse  upon  the  'ATMA  TATTVAM,'  he  can  realise  or  has  realised  the  Supreme."

NEXT : Discussion-2. "There  are  in  North  India  "Caturvedi-s  and  Tivedi-s  which  were  titles....."

To be continued  ...
