TAITTIRIYA UPANISHAD – 44. Rishi Yajnavalkya.

Chinmaya Mission:

Chinmaya Upasana, Hosur hosted an inter-school Gita chanting competition on December 7, 2023, with Brni. 

Shraddha and Brni. Barathi as judges. Seven schools from Hosur participated, with 54 students advancing to the interschool level. 

The prize distribution, presided over by Shri. Dr. Barathi, MD of Growmore Biotech, took place immediately after the competition. 

Swami Shashvatanandaji graced the occasion, and Smt. Veena, Principal of Poornakamala Vidyalaya, joined the dignitaries in lighting the lamp. 

Shri. Barathi spoke about the profound insights of the Gita, while Swami Shashvatanandaji emphasized the significance of sharing its knowledge. 

Medals were awarded to all participants, and Sri Gurukulam received an award for the highest participation. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Smt. Indumathi, expressing gratitude to sponsors and participating schools.

shan nah indrah brihaspatih; = May we have the Grace of Indra and Brihaspati!

shan nah vishnuh urukramaha; = May Vishnu, the all-pervading, be propitious to us!

namah brahmanah; = Salutations to Brahman!

namah te vayuh; Salutation to Thee, = O Vayu! (Pratyag Brahman)

twam eva pratyaksham brahma asi; = Thou art the visible Brahman,

twaam eva pratyaksham = Thee alone the visible 

Brahma vadishyaami; = Brahman shall I consider.

ritam vadishyaami; = Thou art the (Vyavaharic) Dharma, the “Right”;

satyam vadishyaami; = Thou art the (Paramarthic) Supreme, the “Good”;

tat maam avatu; May = That protect me!

tat vaktaaram avatu; = May that protect the teacher (speaker)

avatu maam; = Please protect me!
