=================================================================================== Wednesday 28, May 2025, 11:10. Books Lessons on the Upanishads: 1.4 -  Swami Krishnananda Chapter 1: Introduction to the Upanishads-4. Post-3. ====================================================================================== We are finite individuals in every way. Financially we are finite, geographically we are located in one place only and, therefore, we are finite; socially we are finite, historically we are finite, politically we are finite; even in the eyes of nature we are finite. Thus, the same argument can apply here: as change could not be perceived without the presence of something that is not changing in ourselves, the finitude of our existence also could not be known unless there is something in us which is not finite. The non-finite is what we call the Infinite. The Infinite is masquerading in us, which is another way of saying that the Unchanging is present in us. The Infinite is ...

======================================================================================= Sunday 25, May 2025, 12:20. Article Scriptures Commentary on the Isa Vasya Upanishad: 7. Part-2-.1. Swami Krishnananda POST: 7. ===================================================================================== Events do not suddenly arise like upstarts. We sometimes say that an unexpected event has taken place, an accident has occurred. Actually, unexpected events are really to be expected events. That they are not contents of our awareness at the present moment, cannot make them unexpected. The fructification of a particular cause brings about an effect, which we call an event that takes place in the world. But, as in the analogy of the ripening of the fruit, we see only the ripened colour of the fruit at a particular moment of the day, not being cognizant of the processes that preceded the vision of this ripened fruit. The occurrence of a particular event is a sudden occurrence for all practic...

The Philosophy of the Panchadasi: 1.5 - Swami Krishnananda.

Swami Chinmayananda: You must have this attitude that you function for the good of the world, not because the world deserves it, not because that I am doing it because the world will recognise and be grateful to me! Say, I don’t want your gratefulness.  I don’t want your recognition. Then why am I doing it? That is my nature to do it. I find fulfilment in doing. That sort of thing.  Fulfil all your obligatory duties not for the sake of the mother congratulating you or father congratulating or wife becoming grateful to you or the children will look after you. Not for the sake of others. But for the sake of Him (God). For the yajna spirit, do the work. ======================================================================================================= Saturday 24, May 2025, 13:00. Mantram No. 5: Who performs the sacrifice when these flames are brilliant, offering oblations at the right time, him the rays of the sun guide and take to where the ruler of the gods reigns supreme. Mantram No. 6: The oblations offered appear in conscious forms and invite the sacrificer, saying “Come, Come”. They speak to him in sweet words and worship him and through the passage of the rays of the sun lead him up to the celestial region and say, “This is your auspicious heavenly world, the effect of meritorious deeds.” Actions performed without knowledge bind the performer to the pa...

Books Commentary on the Panchadasi:3. Swami Krishnananda. Chapter 1: Tattva Viveka – Discrimination of Reality Mantras: 1-5 Post-3. ============================================================================================== Mantram: 3. Sabda sparsa dayo vedya vaici tryaj jagare prthak, tato vibhakta tat samvit aika rupyanna bhidyate (3).  Sabda sparsa—there are five objects of cognition or perception: sound, touch, form or colour, taste and smell. The eyes cannot hear and the ears cannot see, but there is someone who sees and hears at the same time. We can sometimes see, hear, touch, smell and taste at the same time, though the five functions differ from one another. One sense organ cannot perform the function of another sense organ. The ear cannot even know that there is such a thing called the eye, etc....

============================================================================================== Wednesday 21, May 2025, 09:30. Lessons on the Upanishads: 1.3 -  Swami Krishnananda Chapter 1: Introduction to the Upanishads-3. Post-3. ============================================================================================ Movement is always in some direction, and there is no movement without a purpose. So, there must be a purpose in the movement of nature, in even the historical transformations that take place in human society and in the world as a whole. There must be a destination behind this movement. If we move, we are moving in some direction, towards some destination. There must be some destination towards which the whole cosmos is moving in the process of evolution. We are all well acquainted with the doctrine known as the evolutionary process, which is highlighted these days in the modern world. We have heard that there is a gradual rise of the organisms of life fro...

Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) is at Adi Sankara Nilayam: Kochi, India. The second part of the Manusmriti Camp was held as a residential programme in Tamil from 11 to 17 May 2025 at Adi Sankara Nilayam. 65 seekers, from youth to elders, came together to explore Sanatana Dharma through the lens of the Manusmriti, focusing on Chapters 5 to 8. Exposition of the text by Swami Ramakrishnananda (Chinmaya Mission, Nagapattinam) was the heart of this experience. With a blend of simplicity and insight, Swamiji wove humour and relatable stories into his discourses, making even the most intricate verses easy to understand and relatable. His warmth and compassion created a space where every participant felt truly engaged. The days were thoughtfully structured and packed with inspiring discourses, engaging discussions, and quiet moments for deep reflection, making every moment meaningful and transformative. More than a study camp, it was a lived experience of Dharma and deep contemplation ...
