Atharvane  yam  pravadeta  brahma-tharva

tam  purova-cangire  brahma-vidyam

sa  bharadvajaya  satyavahaya

praha  bharadvajo-ngirase  paravaram.





atharvane  =  to  Atharva;

yam  =  which;

pravadeta  =  taught;

Brahma  =  Brahmaji;

atharva  =  Atharva;

tam  =  that;

pura  =  in  ancient  days;

uvaca  =  said;

angire  =  to  Angi;

brahma-vidyam  =  to  Knowledge  of  Reality;

sah  =m  He;

bharadvajaya  =  of  Bharadvaja  family;

satyavahaya  =  to  Satyavaha;

praha  =  said;

bharadvajah  =  Bharadvaja  (one  born  in  Bharadvaja  family  clan);

angirase  =  to  Angira;

para-varam  =  from  greater  to  lesser  (Guru  to  Sishya/ Master  to  Disciple).




"The  very  knowledge  which  Brahmaji  taught  to  Atharva,  he  taught  it  to  Angi  in  ancient  days :

and  he  taught  it  to  Rishi  Satyavaha  ---  of  the  Bharadvaja  clan  and  Satyavaha  taught  it  to  Anigira  ---

the  knowledge  was  so  handed  down  from  the  greater  ( Teacher )  to  the  lesser   ( Student )."


Next : Discussion - 1. "they  ( Rishi-s )  never  dared  to  claim  the  knowledge  as  their  own"  ......
