 Mantram-3. " Sounak's  question  after  approaching  the  teacher ... 'Angira.'  "



Saunako  ha  vai  mahasalongirasam


vidhivad-upasannah  papraccha,


kasmin  nu  bhagavo  vijnate


sarvam-idam  vijnatam  bhavatiti.




Saunakah  =  Sounaka  ( disciple's  name);

ha  vai  mahasalah  =  great  householder  ( Grahasthan )indeed;

angirasam  =  Rishi  Angira;

vidhivat  =  in  the  prescribed  manner;

upasannah  =  approaching;

papraccha  =  asked;

kasmin  nu  =  what  is  that  which;

bhagavo  =  Oh  Lord;

vijnate  =  having  unknown;

sarvam  =  all;

idam  =  these;

vijnatam  =  known;

bhavati  =  becomes;

iti  =  that.



" The  great  householder  ( grahasthan)  Sounaka  duly  approaching  Rishi  Angira  in  the  prescribed  manner  asked. ' What  is  That,  my  Lord  ( teacher ),  having  known  which  all  these  become  known' ? "
